A Day in the life

A month later and we are still quarantining… Yes places are beginning to open up but it’s still great to be cautious. So I’m pretty much sticking to my routine of being isolate lol. What is a day in the life at home? Well for me it starts like this.

Mornings

I usually wake up around 7:30 a.m.- 8 a.m. Then I check my phone and look at any notifications, Timehop to see any good memories and then I read Psalms 91 and declare this scripture over my family every day.

I get up and stretch a little bit, make my bed and try to get Leo up without him growling at me (hardly ever happens) Then it’s time for my favorite part of the day COFFEE. It makes my day. I usually drink my cup of coffee and watch some Netflix or Youtube, usually one of Aspyn Ovard’s vlogs because I’m obsessed with baby Cove. Then I’ll read a chapter out of the book I’m currently reading which is, “Girl Stop Apologizing.” Rachel Hollis is my queen. I love her and aspire to be an accomplished woman like herself. If you have any book recommendations let me know! I love her books because they motivate me like crazy. Then it’s off to my work day from home!

Lunch

I typically eat a late breakfast or early lunch, which tends to always be breakfast food because I enjoy making it! During this time I’m usually jumping in and out of zoom calls until I get off for the day. Before I started my internship I was working out around 12 p.m.- 1 p.m. but I’m not going to lie my exercise routine is all over the place right now. I do my best to be active in some way each day or at least eat better that day. I had almost worked up the nerve to start going back to the gym, but I’m still a little hesitate so working out from home will have to do for now.

Evenings

While the middle part of my day is up for grabs, my mornings and evenings typically follow routine. I’ll eat, watch a movie, same old same old. I had been struggling so hard getting rest at night, and I searched and googled willing to try anything to help me sleep. After many peoples’ advice and google tips I think I’ve found what works for me. My biggest problem was that during this quarantine I was waking up and getting my coffee then taking it back to my room and drinking it in bed. I would pretty much be in my room all day and stayed in bed doing whatever. Well that was not a good idea! I found several articles that said your bed is for sleep. period. That’s a huge piece of advice I have for anyone struggling like I was. Don’t stay in bed all morning let alone all day, wait until you’re sleepy at night before going to bed and if you can’t sleep get up until you are sleepy again. So with all that being said my routine is as follows… I take a bubble bath and light a candle and I take my precious time haha. Then I’ll do my skin routine of washing my face, applying toner and putting on moisturizer. I brush my teeth then grab my cozy pjs that aren’t cute. I’ve always slept in big t-shirts and basketball shorts. I wish I was the girl who had cute pajamas, but even at sleepovers I wear what I know I feel comfortable in and so be it haha. I read scripture before bed, because my biggest New Years resolution this year was to read the entire bible start to finish. I take my melatonin and usually scroll through my phone again at this point. Lastly, I allow my OCD to kick in and I run through a to do list of what I need to do the next day in my mind. Once I’ve gotten super sleepy I head to bed. Turn on my diffuser with lavender essential oil, spray a lavender pillow mist on my pillows, say my prayers and I’m out like a light.

And that’s it! Nothing special haha, but it works for me! I like seeing what people are doing to stay busy, active and productive during quarantine. What does your daily routine look like?
