If you’ve been watching The Bachelor this season, you probably have the same pick as most of America, Madison Prewett. Madi is another contestant from Alabama. Though she is an Auburn alumni, Roll Tide anyways.
I wanted to discuss Madi’s stance she took on last week’s episode. She didn’t give any ultimatums or look down on anyone for having different values. She expressed her personal standards that she holds for herself and her relationships and I respect her completely for it.
I found myself noticing that we’re not all that different. We share similar values and in today’s society I’m surprised at how many people took up for her instead of ripping her to pieces, especially on Twitter.
Years ago, as a little girl, I made the decision that I would save myself for marriage. That doesn’t mean I’m perfect or that temptation hasn’t been there it just means I drew a line. And that can be scary as a young woman dating, not knowing if that’s going to be an issue.
It’s not something I’ve ever been ashamed of or afraid to be straightforward with. So that is why I respect Madi and how she’s handled herself. She didn’t slut shame, she didn’t say “Well I can’t be with you because you’re not a virgin,” she handled herself gracefully and was genuine in the process. I can only hope I would have handled myself in the same manner.
Madi has been a great role model this season and it’s been a breath of fresh air to see fans pull for her! It’s always good to see someone stand up for what they believe in and stand up for themselves.
I am curious if Madi ends being Peter’s pick how their relationship will stand? They are clearly on two different paths and look at life differently. That’s not all bad, but it does mean there will need to be serious conversations and some give and take. What are your thoughts? Who is your pick?
