Thankful, Grateful and Blessed

It’s the usual… the one time of the year where we publicly declare what we’re thankful for. First and foremost I am SO thankful to be out on Thanksgiving break and to have the chance to sit down and blog!

As always I’m thankful for my friends, family and etc. But let’s try and be specific. I’m thankful for the opportunities God continues to place in front of me. I’m thankful for the chaos and the busyness, because I fully believe it is all setting me up for something great!

It’s almost time to transition into a new year, new season and fresh start. I look forward to another year of learning my passions. Now is the perfect time to put into perspective everything that you have going for you. The other morning I read a devotional pulled from Ecclesiastes 5.

“After looking at the way things are on this earth, here’s what I’ve decided is the best way to live: Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that’s about it. That’s the human lot. Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what’s given and delighting in the work. It’s God’s gift! God deals out joy in the present, the now.

Ecclesiastes 5:19-20

After reading that, I literally felt like the Lord was saying, “Now c’mon girl.” I am a huge worry wart over the little things like a phone upgrade to my future ten years from now.

I, like I’m sure many others, focus so much on the things I need to do or don’t have. But I don’t want to be the person who is missing out on all the good things happening in the present. As a declaration and an act of sacrificing my OCD, anxious and worried ways, I am beyond thankful for everything I have right now in this moment.
