What It’s Like To Love Yourself

You read the title and probably thought, “Ugh gag.” But seriously what does it mean to love yourself? It’s probably a little different for each individual. I personally think it all dwindles down to one thing… All the many things you don’t like about yourself, loving yourself anyways. Through every insecurity, flaw, bad decision, regret, and mess up.

There’s a huge debate whether you can love someone else if you don’t even love yourself, and to each their own. I believe if you’re not happy or accepting of yourself, how can you give someone else your full love? I don’t think you can, or at least it’ll be pretty messy.

Maybe that’s where you stand right now or maybe you can’t seem to get a relationship right, and that could be why. Do some self reflecting and self loving and see where your chips fall.

When you truly love yourself a scale isn’t as important to step on anymore, those oreos you want to binge eat because you’re depressed aren’t as appealing, you’re not comparing yourself to the beautiful instagram models and for once you appreciate the beauty that God created, you.

I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex!

Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking.

It simply amazes me to think about it!

How thoroughly you know me, Lord

You even formed every bone in my body

when you created me in the secret place,

carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something.

You saw who you created me to be before I became me!

Before I’d ever seen the light of day,

the number of days you planned for me

were already recorded in your book.

Every single moment you are thinking of me!

How precious and wonderful to consider

that you cherish me constantly in your every thought

Psalm 139
