Yet They’re Unchanged

But even the demons know this and tremble with fear before him, yet they’re unchanged— they remain demons...

“You can believe all you want that there is one true God, that’s wonderful! But even the demons know this and tremble with fear before him, yet they’re unchanged— they remain demons.” James 2:19

Wow. When I read that it was like you could hear crickets chirping. That’s the hard stuff. Let’s meditate back on the scripture. “You can believe all you want that there is on true God, that’s wonderful!” Hmmmm….. “But even demons know this and tremble with fear before him,” WOW “yet they’re unchanged— they remain demons.” YIKES! Even demons believe in God! Even demons know he is IT! YET they’re still demons? To me that means we can go our entire lives and believe that God is God. Believe in his power. Believe in his word, and still not be changed. We can still not be 100% in. Our hearts can still not be pure. We can put on a great show and even convince ourselves. That’s scary! So how do you know that you’re truly changed? You find joy in your salvation. Your salvation should be the cornerstone of your happiness. We’re able to forgive even when we really really don’t want to! We are able to smile through dark times because God is on our side. We’re able to give up the sin that’s been holding us down day after day! So ask God to purify your heart. To make pure your intentions. To change you from the inside out. To make joy your lifestyle! Ask God to remove the things that are keeping you from being all in for him. God I don’t want to walk around blind. I want to be truly changed. I believe in all that you are! So use me and change me from the inside out.
