Laying in bed last night I was thinking about “The 5 Virtues of a Knight.” It’s something we are discussing in my literature class. I started to think about my virtues. What are they? A virtue is a behavior showing high moral standards. It can also be seen as: goodness, morality, integrity, dignity, honor, decency, respectability, nobility, purity. A moral is the means of being concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior. It can also be referred to as the goodness or badness of human character and a person’s standards of behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do. I have been praying to walk better in certain attributes. Though when thinking of this I thought “What are my goals and virtues I want to uphold and achieve?” So I am creating a list.
“The 5 Virtues of Macey”
I am encouraging you to reflect on that, your 5 virtues. Pray about them. Create a list and then strive to uphold them to your best ability. I have been wording this part in my prayer as “God allow me to walk fully in compassion, love, kindness…” What are your 5 Virtues? What do you want them to be? What do you want to be better at as a person? Colossians 3:12 is a good basis on where to start and pull from.
“So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.”
